A “Qualified Administrator” is an individual who has been trained to debrief the Intercultural Development Inventory.
No. The inventory is meant to give candidates insight into their current abilities in relating to people of other cultures. It is helpful as a basis from which to self-evaluate, educate, inform, and grow. It is very possible to grow in this area, and should not be seen as a disqualifying “rating” tool.

It is a highly researched instrument with its roots in the world of social research, business, and education. As such, it is not intended to provide any theological basis for intercultural relationships or human relationships.
Every test taker brings his or her own world and life view to those relationships. We believe that Christians taking the IDI benefit from the deeper awareness the profile provides, and can use that awareness well as they live in light of God’s truth.
The assessment can take 45-60 minutes to complete.
A debrief can take 30-45 minutes to complete.
The debrief ensures that you know how to read the document (what it says and does not say). It also provides the necessary framework to move forward in evaluating and growing in your own cultural awareness.
Yes. This is part of the IDI licensing agreement and is designed to make sure the results of the profile are understood and acted upon with clarity.
A group debrief can be done without everyone in the group doing a personal debrief, but individuals will not receive their Individual Profile results after participating in a group debrief.
